Antonela Roccuzzo turned to social media to celebrate Lionel Messi's latest World Cup milestone, sharing photos of herself and the couple's three children after Messi scored his record-breaking 17th World Cup goal during Argentina's Monday meeting with Austria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Dallas.

Roccuzzo, 38, posted a series of images showing her alongside Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro while wearing a Messi jersey in Dallas for the Argentina vs. Austria game on Monday, June 22. The post offered a public glimpse of the family rallying around Messi on a night that reshaped World Cup history.

What a privilege to see you make history again and again

Roccuzzo paired the photos with a caption directed at her husband, writing that line before adding:

I love you @lionelmessi!!!

Messi's record-breaking night against Austria

During Monday's game, Messi, also 38, scored his record-breaking 17th World Cup goal. He followed with an 18th in the same match, pushing past Germany's Miroslav Klose, who had previously held the men's World Cup scoring record with 16 goals.

Messi's 17th and 18th goals in that outing established a new standard as the tournament's all-time top scorer among men. The performance came in Argentina's 2026 World Cup fixture against Austria on June 22.

How Messi and Roccuzzo built their family

Messi and Roccuzzo met as children and later reconnected as adults in 2005. The couple welcomed their first son, Thiago, in 2012. Their second son, Mateo, arrived in 2015, followed by their third son, Ciro, in 2018.

The pair tied the knot in their hometown of Rosario, Argentina, on June 30, 2017.

What Messi has said about Roccuzzo and fatherhood

In 2019, when asked about his favorite qualities in his wife, Messi said he admires everything about her.

She has many good qualities: how she gets by on a daily basis; her personality; she is always in a good mood; and she always faces up to problems in an admirable way. She is a very intelligent person who is great in all aspects of life.

Messi has also spoken about how becoming a father changed his outlook. In 2013, he said fatherhood had a deeper impact on his life than his individual honors on the pitch.

My son has changed my life more than the Ballon d'Or [awards] have.

On how parenthood shifted his priorities, Messi added:

When I look at life, think about each moment, when I analyze every situation … Now everything is different.

Messi's current roles and 2026 World Cup milestones

Messi currently plays forward and captains both Inter Miami CF, which is co-owned by former English football star David Beckham, and the Argentina national team.

The 2026 World Cup has produced a run of milestones for Messi beyond Monday's scoring record. He became the first player to appear in six World Cups, with Cristiano Ronaldo later joining him at that mark during the same tournament cycle.

With Roccuzzo's Dallas tribute and Messi's two-goal night against Austria, the record-breaking 17th World Cup goal and the follow-up 18th landed alongside that six-tournament appearance milestone as defining markers of the 2026 event for Argentina's captain and his family.
