The 2026 tournament is being staged across North America this summer, with 48 nations split into 12 groups of four. Each group plays a round-robin format, with three points awarded for a win and one for a draw. The top two teams in every group advance to the Round of 32, along with the eight best third-place finishers.
For Argentina, the Algeria fixture marks Lionel Messi's sixth World Cup appearance as he looks to lead the national team and defend their World Cup title.
Tickets for Argentina vs Algeria remain available, with the cheapest listed seats priced at $903 at the time of reporting. For the first time, fans were able to buy available seats immediately rather than through a lottery, and could specific seats instead of choosing from four broad categories. Fans who purchased in those categories could also see the exact location of their seats for the first time.
Tickets will continue to be released on a rolling basis.
FIFA has also opened an authorized resale marketplace, which enables fans who can no longer attend matches to sell their tickets to other fans in a secure and authorized environment, safeguarding against invalid or unauthorized resale. That marketplace opened on Thursday, April 2.
