The expansion is described as a connecting plotline between the events of the third game and the upcoming The Witcher 4. Cockle noted he had suspected CD Projekt RED was working on a secret project, and the official announcement validated long standing rumors among players.

Cockle currently has no further information on the expansion's plot or setting. When asked about the recording process, he declined to comment, citing the strict terms of his signed non disclosure agreement.

His involvement in Fool's Theory's remake of the original The Witcher has not been confirmed. That updated version is scheduled to release after The Witcher 4, which is slated for 2027. Cockle has expressed hope for an official invitation and his willingness to voice the Witcher for as long as possible.
