Bosnia's defense has kept Switzerland searching for a breakthrough through the opening hour. At halftime the score was still 0-0, with Bosnia reaching the Swiss box seven times and holding a 2-1 edge on attempts inside the area despite Switzerland controlling more of the ball. Bosnia fan chants echoed through the packed venue from the opening kickoff.

Earlier on Day 8, Czechia and South Africa played to a 1-1 draw in Atlanta in Group A. Michal Sadílek put Czechia ahead in the sixth minute before Teboho Mokoena converted an 83rd minute penalty after a Czechia handball in the box. Mexico vs. South Korea is scheduled for 6 p.m. Pacific Time Thursday.
