Gears of War E-Day Confirmed as Longest Campaign in Series History

The Coalition has confirmed Gears of War E-Day will deliver the longest main campaign in franchise history, with the Emergence Day prequel targeting over 14 hours of story content at launch.

In a group interview, creative director Matt Searcy said the campaign will be longer than any campaign The Coalition has built.

Gamers can expect to spend over 14 hours completing the main story.

Beyond the story mode, the release will include 4v4 multiplayer and a 12 player PvE horde mode called Horde Siege. Xbox has positioned E-Day as a flagship title for the tail end of 2026.

Gears of War E-Day will not receive a PlayStation 5 version and is set as an Xbox console exclusive. The game launches October 6, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
