Mora's appearance in the tournament opener made him the youngest player at the 2026 World Cup. He also broke a Mexican record that had stood for 96 years and placed himself among the youngest players ever to appear in a World Cup match. He did it in front of more than 80,000 fans while representing a host nation under full tournament pressure.
Before the World Cup, Mora had already become the youngest player to debut for Mexico's senior national team.
