The first person action title is described as a historical soulslike built around zombie like monsters and Napoleon. The studio said it had appeared in a Partner Showcase, where release dates can get locked weeks in advance, and that a crowded September had always been a possibility once that window filled up.
September has become absolutely stacked with incredible-looking games. We knew this was a possibility, but when you're in a Partner Showcase as we were, dates get locked weeks in advance. We want to give Valor Mortis (and your wallet) some room to breathe. Therefore, we've decided to move our release date to October 13th.
In a follow up post, the team shared a gif from Valor Mortis showing a character getting attacked and killed, alongside a line that appeared to poke fun at the scheduling crunch.

The studio also confirmed that a Valor Mortis demo is now available on Steam ahead of the October 13 launch. Even with the move, October may remain crowded, and more release date shifts could follow as publishers navigate the run up to GTA 6.
