Due to anticipated severe weather, the FIFA Fan Festival™ will be closing early at 5pm and will not reopen today.
KC2026, the group organizing the FIFA Fan Fest is working closely with the National Weather Service and will keep fans updated on any further impacts as storms remain possible across the area.
KC2026 announced Saturday morning that the Chainsmokers concert planned for Saturday night has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 21, due to the threat of severe weather. FIFA World Cup 26 Kansas City posted:
Due to the severe weather forecast for the evening of Saturday, June 13, The Chainsmokers performance has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 21. The FIFA Fan Festival™ will still open at 2pm today as planned and we will continue to actively monitor conditions.
Saturday also marks a busier stretch for World Cup viewing, with four matches scheduled across nearly 12 hours. The United States is coming off a 4-1 opening win over Paraguay at Los Angeles Stadium. Around 1 p.m., England, Kansas City's fourth and final base camp team, arrived in the area, with the squad staying at the Inn at Meadowbrook in Prairie Village and training at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. Reports surfaced Friday night that England's gear may have been stolen while en route from Florida to Kansas City.
