007 First Light is out now, and for Bond gaming fans the wait reportedly stretches back 16 years to James Bond 007: Blood Stone in 2010. IO Interactive developed the title in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, with a May 27, 2026 launch on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Early review coverage appears to frame 007 First Light as the strongest Bond game released to date, with Metacritic aggregates reportedly placing it among the top 2026 releases. The campaign follows a 26 year old James Bond before he earns 00 status, recruited into a re established MI6 elite programme in what may be the franchise's first dramatized gaming origin story.
Gameplay reportedly blends Hitman style infiltration routes, bluff based guard interactions, stealth, combat, and investigation. Patrick Gibson voices an original Bond rather than a film likeness, alongside M, Q, Moneypenny, and new characters. Technical coverage has singled out a consistent 60fps PS5 Pro performance. With Amazon MGM holding film creative control and a Denis Villeneuve directed Bond movie still in casting, 007 First Light may currently stand as the most significant new Bond content available.
