Every Group J match that does not include Argentina carries weight for the two nations involved if they hope to advance. This is the first World Cup game for both Austria and Jordan in the group.
For the first time, fans were able to purchase available seats immediately rather than going through a lottery. Buyers also had the chance to specific seats for World Cup games instead of choosing one of four categories as required previously. Fans who purchased tickets in one of those four categories were able to see the exact location of their tickets for the first time.
FIFA has advised fans to check its ticket website regularly, as not every open seat will be available right away.
Tickets will continue to be released on a rolling basis.
The 48 competing nations are divided into 12 groups of four. Each group plays a round robin format where teams earn three points for a win and one point for a draw. The top two teams in each group advance to the Round of 32 along with the eight best third place squads.
FIFA's authorized resale marketplace enables fans who can no longer attend matches to sell tickets to other fans in a secure environment, safeguarding against invalid or unauthorized resale. The marketplace opened Thursday, April 2. Prices and availability may change.
