France enter the tournament as one of the biggest favorites to win it all, and they get to start in the host country's biggest city. Senegal will be underdogs in the opening game, but they are no slouch, ranked No. 15 in the world.

France vs Senegal ticket availability and pricing

As of publication, the cheapest available France vs Senegal World Cup ticket costs $969. Availability is limited, and prices may change.

For the first time, fans were able to purchase available seats immediately rather than going through a lottery. Fans also had the chance to specific seats for World Cup games, instead of selecting one of four categories as they have been required to do previously.

Fans who purchased tickets in one of the aforementioned four categories were able to see the exact location of their tickets for the first time.

FIFA has advised fans to check its ticket website regularly, as not every open seat will be available right away.

Tickets will continue to be released on a rolling basis.

2026 World Cup group stage format

The 48 competing nations are divided into 12 groups of four. Each group will play a round robin style where teams are awarded three points for a win and one point for a draw.

The top two teams in each group advance to the Round of 32 along with the eight best third place squads. Tiebreakers in the group standings will be resolved using criteria set for the tournament.

FIFA resale marketplace

Fans wondering whether tickets will be available on the resale market can use FIFA's authorized platform. The marketplace opened on Thursday, April 2.

Enables fans who can no longer attend matches to sell their tickets to other fans in a secure and authorized environment, safeguarding against invalid or unauthorized resale.

The marketplace will be used not just by fans who can no longer attend matches, but also those looking to make a profit on high demand games.
