That avoidance appears to have packed a crowded six-week stretch from late September through late October with titles, including Marvel's Wolverine, a new Silent Hill project, and Call of Duty 4.
Eric Chort, producer on Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, framed the industry's reaction in blunt terms.
GTA is like the ogre, it's the biggest one
Chort indicated that presence has led studios worldwide to adjust release plans rather than compete directly with GTA 6's window.
Only two releases currently appear positioned to share November with Rockstar's flagship: Atari's Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered on November 3 and Barbie: Rewind on November 12. Both remakes could lean on nostalgia-driven appeal rather than mainstream blockbuster scale.
Social posts from the GTA community have underscored the anticipation around Rockstar's timeline. One r/GTA user posted ahead of an expected May 12 trailer date:
I can't stop thinking about May 12th. Flashes of Jason and Lucia constantly pop into my head. It's almost like I can feel and talk to them. 'We're coming tomorrow, don't worry buddy.' Tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting for. Be ready guys cause it's gonna be a fricking movie.
That trailer did not arrive on the expected date. As November approaches, Godzilla and Barbie stand as the notable exceptions to the wider industry dodge around GTA 6.
