Rockstar Games has released a new look at Grand Theft Auto VI, giving fans a short snippet of in-game footage alongside the GTA 6 cover art reveal and pre-order date confirmation. This is the first new gameplay material since Trailer 2 arrived last May.

The clip appears as a scrollable element on Rockstar's GTA VI mini-site, which received layout and content changes during the same refresh. The footage cannot be viewed in full screen or paused like a standard video.

The video runs at 4K resolution and 30 frames per second, the same frame rate the game is expected to target on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro. The 8 second clip shows an aerial shot of Vice City, Leonida at sunset. Seven aircraft are visible in the sky, and parallax interiors are confirmed.

Where Grand Theft Auto V used static textures for windows, a parallax effect can be seen on the buildings in this clip, giving a 3D effect as if the rooms behind the windows were real. This is a technique found in video games this generation and is not exclusively new for GTA VI. It really makes GTA VI look better than GTA V.

Rockstar's official story description reads:

"When an easy score lands Jason and Lucia in a conspiracy stretching across the entire state of Leonida, the young criminal couple find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

Pre-orders for GTA 6 open June 25.
