The project has slipped twice. Rockstar first pointed to a 2025 launch window, then moved to May 26, 2026 on May 2, 2025, before pushing again to November 19, 2026. In the November 2025 announcement, Rockstar wrote:
Sorry for adding additional time to a release date that many of you feel is too far away
Rockstar said the extra months were needed to finish the game with the level of polish players have come to expect. The studio has formally confirmed Jason and Lucia as protagonists and a Florida inspired setting called Leonida built around Vice City. Two official trailers arrived in December 2023 and May 6, 2025. Pre orders, edition tiers, and an official price were not live as of late May 2026. The November 19 date lands one week before U.S. Thanksgiving and inside the holiday shopping window.
