The team is moving carefully on what it shares publicly. Revolution Team said creating a project of this size carries the risk of a DMCA action over copyright infringement, so it is not rushing to reveal every detail.
As we said before, we try to share news carefully and not publish too much information to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. But leaving you without news is also wrong. Therefore, we have prepared a small progress card. Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done, but the project is slowly but surely moving forward.
Current development breakdown
Revolution Team presented a progress card outlining several major areas of the remaster. The figures cover how much of the project is finished across the map, story content, vehicles, and audio.
- City work: almost half complete. This category is assumed to include all settlements in the game.
- Missions: 10% ready.
- Vehicles: more than half finished.
- Radio stations: almost all complete.
Revolution Team history with Take Two
This is not the first Nextgen Edition project from Revolution Team. The group previously released GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition, a remaster running on the RAGE engine from Grand Theft Auto IV.
Take Two lawyers attempted to shut that Vice City project down completely. The remaster still reached release and later received patches from the modders.
