In a recent post on X, NateTheHate responded to a user suggesting there may be reason to believe the game will not launch this year and that Rockstar could move the current date into 2027. His reply pointed to November as the planned window unless development hits a major unexpected problem.
Unless something unexpected & catastrophically goes wrong with GTA6 in the immediate future... it'll hit in November as planned.
That stance lines up with recent comments from Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Take-Two has said marketing for GTA 6 will begin this summer and that the campaign ahead of launch will be short, which would put the first wave of promotion between now and August if that timeline holds.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also stated that November 19 is the release date for GTA 6 and that he has high confidence Rockstar will meet that deadline. Fears of another slip stem from Rockstar already moving the game twice. GTA 6 was originally expected in 2025, then was confirmed for May 26, 2026, before landing on the current November 19, 2026 date.
