Argentina is tied with Austria atop Group J. The winner of Monday's game will clinch a spot in the knockout round, while the loser will still be in position to clinch a spot with a win in its third and final group stage game. Austria earned its place in that showdown with a 3-1 victory over Jordan on Tuesday, its first World Cup win in 36 years since beating the USMNT at the 1990 tournament. Jordan is making its debut run at the FIFA World Cup. No World Cup debutant has won its opening game since Senegal beat France in 2002.
Argentina plays Austria on Monday at Dallas Stadium at noon. Jordan plays Algeria in California at 10 p.m. CST on the same matchday. Group J will be the final group to find out its knockout stage play, with all four teams wrapping up group stage play on June 27.
