Lionel Messi broke the men's all-time World Cup goals record with his 17th and 18th career goals in Argentina's 2-0 win over Austria. He missed a ninth-minute penalty after video review before scoring in the 38th minute from the edge of the box on a pullback from Facundo Medina, passing Miroslav Klose. Messi added his 18th in second-half stoppage time.
