Take-Two relies on GTA VI for earnings, with recurring spending in NBA 2K and Zynga's mobile portfolio expected to cushion gaps between major releases.

The preorder confirmation directly supports management's Fiscal 2027 outlook. Revenue guidance stands at US$7,900 million to US$8,100 million, with a return to modest profitability expected by Fiscal 2027. Those targets were issued before the GTA VI preorder date was locked in, giving investors firmer timing to weigh against guidance.

The company's narrative projects US$8.8 billion in revenue and US$1.1 billion in earnings by 2028. Take-Two's current position reflects a shift from ongoing losses toward franchise-driven earnings, though heavy dependence on one flagship launch remains a near term risk.

Some of the lowest ranked analysts were already cautious, penciling in roughly US$8,500 million of revenue and US$906.3 million of earnings by 2029. They worry that if Grand Theft Auto VI or mobile titles fall short of those assumptions, current enthusiasm around the preorder news could look optimistic in hindsight.
