Friday Group C

  • Scotland vs. Morocco at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., 3 p.m. PDT on Fox and Telemundo. Scotland opened with a win over Haiti on John McGinn's goal midway through the first half, its first victory in 10 World Cup games against teams from the Americas. A win or draw here will probably send Scotland to the knockout stage for the first time. Morocco earned a 1-1 draw with Brazil in its opener, with Ismael Saibari scoring in the 21st minute.
  • Haiti vs. Brazil at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, 5:30 p.m. PDT on Fox and Telemundo. Haiti outpossessed and outshot Scotland in its opening loss but could not score, leaving it needing at least a point here to keep advancement hopes alive. Brazil got a 32nd-minute goal from Vinícius Júnior in its opener.

Friday Group D

  • United States vs. Australia at Lumen Field in Seattle, noon PDT on Fox and Telemundo. The only time the U.S. two games in the group stage was 1930, and the Americans can equal that with a win here after thrashing Paraguay in their opener. Folarin Balogun's two goals in that match equaled another record from 1930, the last time a U.S. player had multiple goals in a World Cup game. Australia opened with a 2-0 win over Turkey, and a win or draw here will likely send the Socceroos to the next round for a second straight World Cup.
  • Turkey vs. Paraguay at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., 8 p.m. PDT on FS1 and Telemundo. Neither team can afford a loss if they hope to advance. Turkey dominated its opener, outshooting Australia 30-9, taking 51 touches in the penalty area and completing 90% of its 635 passes, but had nothing to show for it in a 2-0 loss. Paraguay was never in its opener, falling behind the U.S. 3-0 in the first half of a 4-1 loss.

Saturday Group E

  • Germany vs. Ivory Coast at BMO Field in Toronto, 1 p.m. PDT on Fox and Telemundo. Germany defeated Curaçao 7-1 in its opener, matching its last 7-1 World Cup win from 2014 when it routed Brazil en route to its fourth title. Ivory Coast started with a 1-0 upset of Ecuador on substitute Amad Diallo's goal in the 90th minute, limiting the South Americans to just one shot on goal.
  • Curaçao vs. Ecuador at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., 5 p.m. PDT on FS1 and Telemundo. Curaçao lost to Germany, surrendering 26 shots, 12 on target, in a one-sided loss. Livano Comenencia scored Curaçao's first-ever World Cup goal. Ecuador had few scoring chances in its loss to Ivory Coast and will need to do better to reach the knockout stage for just the second time.

Saturday Group F

  • Netherlands vs. Sweden at NRG Stadium in Houston, 10 a.m. PDT on Fox and Telemundo. Yasin Ayari scored the first and last of Sweden's goals in a 5-1 win over Tunisia. The Netherlands twice lost leads in a 2-2 draw with Japan. The Dutch have not been eliminated in the first round of a World Cup since 1938, but a loss here could put that streak in jeopardy.
  • Tunisia vs. Japan at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Mexico, 9 p.m. PDT on FS1 and Telemundo. Tunisia will play its first game under interim coach Hervé Renard, who managed the team from 2019 to 2022. He replaces Sabri Lamouchi, who was fired after Tunisia's loss to Sweden.
